Winter Activities Recap (for you snowbirds who haven’t been around)
For an off-season, we’ve actually been very busy. At our Holiday Dinner in December, we talked about having some social outings so our spouses and significant others could join us. In January we went axe-throwing (and axe-bouncing), in February we went to an indoor bike show in the valley and in March we went “bowling” and I use that term very loosely; the PBA we were not.
We also launched our experimental Coffee, Donuts and Comradery on the first Saturday morning of the month instead of meeting on the first Monday evening of the month. Our experiment was a resounding success and I’m sure we’ll continue it next winter. We met at Bair’s at 9:00 am and enjoyed complimentary coffee and donuts while catching up with each other. Then at 10:00 am we had an informal meeting and presentation on topics such as the Iron Butt ride that Bair’s is sponsoring, how to be a good ride captain or sweep, and tips on group riding etiquette. And at our last “CD&C” we even got to see a real live Jack Daniel’s bike in person and hear about the lengths the dealerships have to go to to get one. Once again, Bair’s came through for a customer. What better way to spend a wintry Saturday morning than with your riding buddies at Bair’s?
Of course, behind the scenes your officers have been busy. We’ve been networking with other chapters and our new Midwest Region Volunteers, and we’ve been “redecorating” our area at Bair’s with more to come at our Kickoff Breakfast.
And on that note, we bid a fond adieu to winter. Bring on RIDING SEASON!!!
