As each of the 12 riders arrived at Bair’s for the Triple Nickel Ride - their smiles were wide and eyes were big - everyone could see that it was going to be a glorious day to ride. The weather was absolutely perfect! Cool, low humidity, and a bright sun that kindly warmed your back.
The twelve bikes quickly headed south to Zaneszille eating up I-77 and I-70. Two hours later, the dozen riders were fueled and heading to the top of the legendary OH-555. The group quickly and smoothly hustled through the “Nickel” with only a few pace cars that quickly got out of their way. The road was in good repair with very little debris in the curves. The group stayed together but moved quickly -arriving in Chesterhill for lunch in less than an hour.
The Triple Nickel Diner had tables waiting and fed the group a fantastic lunch. There were a number of other bikers there making the wait a little longer, but good company let the time pass quickly.
The group then headed west on OH-377 to Mconnellsville and then OH-78 to I-77. These roads did not disappoint, the higher speeds and sweeping curves created a thrill that was different than OH-555.
The riders hustled up I-77 to the Dairy Queen on OH-212 in Bolivar. This allowed a few with hot Saturday night dates to head home, while others enjoyed post ride ice cream.
Amazing weather, great roads, good food, and great friends. Another North Canton IMRG ride in the books.
The next is Saturday, August 7th. The group will visit the Covered Bridges of Ashtabula County.
