PA is OPEN!!! Let’s Go Play!
PA lifted all restrictions at the end of June, so we’ve planned a weekend overnight for some long overdue playtime in PA. Wanted to go on the Blue Ridge Parkway trip, but couldn’t take that much time off, or miles too daunting? This one’s for you.
We had the weekend of 8/14-8/15 blocked from the beginning when the Pittsburgh King of the Baggers race was announced. The race was cancelled when a sponsor pulled out, but we kept the weekend blocked in hopes that we could go to PA anyway, and NOW WE CAN!
Since it takes a couple hours to get to PA, we’ll roll out late Friday afternoon, August 13th so we can start fresh on Saturday with a full day to ride in the beautifully twisty roads of northwestern and central PA. We’ll visit Kinzua Bridge State Park, see the largest wild elk herd in the northeastern United States and get our fill of scenic twisty roads. Plus, we’ll ride through Pine Creek Gorge, better known by the locals as PA’s Grand Canyon…and you thought there was only one! We’ll ride a little bit more Sunday morning in PA, then back home in time for dinner.
The full itinerary and hotel information can be found in the detailed ride schedule in the Members Only section. Click here. Don’t have the password? Click here to tell our Membership Director you’d like to officially join our chapter and our Webmaster will be happy to give it you.
Keep in mind the hotel cancellation policy: They are able to cancel your rooms with no charge as long as you cancel within 24 hours of your arrival. If weather looks like an issue the Ride Captain will make the decision Thursday morning with input from the riders who have made reservations.
Overnight trips are a great way to get to know your riding buddies a little better, plus you get to ride roads that we just can’t get to on a day ride. The reservation window is now open but closes on 8/1.
