Dragon Ride Stays Dry
by Kevin Irwin - Webmaster
It is not easy leading rides, it is even tougher when you have to make a decision regarding weather. No problem for ride leader Tim WIlliams. He led his first IMRG chapter ride and managed to keep the group dry throughout the day of scattered thunderstorms.
The unstable weather and late Sunday start time limited the group to 9 bikes and 11 riders. While this was Tim Williams’ first time leading a Chapter #1963 ride, this was not his first rodeo. He has been involved with different riding groups for decades and has served my postions such as Road Captain and Ride Leader. On this day, he was taking this group on one of his favorite rides down OH-7 and hit Ohio’s “Tail of the Dragon” OH-536 and OH-255.
After a top notch lunch at Claire Tavern in Clarington, the group quickly attacked the “Dragon” roads. Neither road was a dissappointment and were in excellent condition. Spirits were high when the group rolled into a gas station after completing OH-255.
Most importantly, the group stayed dry all the way home to the Boliver DQ. We saw some wet roads, but we came up behind the storms.
Well done Tim!
PS. Our emerging GPS Technician, Jerry D’Antonio, generated GPX files, Rever links, along with Ride Command files that are posted on the Event page for this ride. So you can still take that ride on you own. Thanks Jerry!
