A Message from our New President
New IMRG Chapter #1963 President - Tom Johnson
Well, my fellow riders, as we start another wonderful year of riding, we have to take a moment to thank some people. I would like to thank all past Chapter Presidents from this group. They have done such a fantastic job to put this group where it is today. I am not aware of the number of rides or miles this group completed over the years, but in the left 2 years of being Head Ride Captain, we have done over 40+ rides and well over 100,000 miles. I am very proud of that. And I only hope that number continues to grow!!
As some read this they think to themselves…” why” or “what is going on?” As of December 3rd, I have assumed the role and responsibilities of President. To be honest, it was a shock to me as well. LOL. I will have my inaugural speech prepared shortly…. that’s a joke by the way. As I said during the Christmas party that I am not at all concerned with new members coming in, THEY WILL COME!! I want the new members to see what we can offer as a group, so they will tell their friends, and so on and so on. I really want to keep the members we have and have the older members return. I am not concerned about being the largest group in the Midwest, I just want us to ride and enjoy what God has given us.
I love to see all the models & makes of bikes that show up when we do ride. The Harleys, the Hondas, and a few Triumphs: new, used and beaten up, washed, un-washed, un-waxed, makes no difference to me. I absolutely love it. I don’t care what you ride, I care that you RIDE!! The trash talking involved is so awesome, its like a bunch of Ole Veterans, sitting around and talking smack!! I welcome them all, with open arms or a handshake.
Now for the real news you all have been waiting for…
We will doing our 1st Coffee, Donuts & Comradery on Jan 7th, 2023 from 9am to 11am. Myself and the other officers will be there to greet you and answer all questions you may have. We will also discuss the upcoming Ride Schedule and ride leaders.
This will take the place of our monthly meetings on Monday nights till March 2023, then we start the meetings back up April 3rd, 2023 @ 7pm!!
Many thanks to all the officers for their outstanding job in 2022, without all of you it would’ve never happened. To the riders, lets make this the best ride season possible. Lets set records and exceed the 150,000 total mile mark!!
